Michigan City officials, residents question city’s part of South Shore Double Track project
"Michigan City residents filled a City Hall meeting room to hear more about the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District’s planned Double Track project and how it will affect their city.
They heard South Shore Line executives say that the $420.3 million project to build a second set of tracks between Gary and Michigan City would speed up train service between Michigan City and Chicago, give local residents chances for better-paying Chicago jobs, and attract more private investment to Michigan City."
